Roosters
During your stay at Vardzia Resort, you’ll find colorful rugs featuring rooster motifs almost everywhere.
Dating back to the 1930s–1950s, these rugs are part of Georgia’s textile heritage. Traditionally handmade by women in old Georgian households, each rug stands out through its unique combination of colors, ornaments, and intricate details.
In Georgian decorative art, the rooster represents courage and strength. Its vibrant colors and diverse designs are what make these rugs truly special.
Today, more than 100 rooster rugs are displayed throughout Vardzia Resort.
